Dabei was afraid that Duozhi would try to stop her, so she hurriedly jumped down. In the instant she leaped, she heard a sharp crack from her own chest. Something burst open; looking down, Dabei saw that it was her “ego-clinging” that had shattered. In that instant, ten thousand beams of golden light shot out from Dabei’s body. Dabei had become an indestructible vajra body. Where the mushroom-cloud-like poison gas touched Dabei’s body, some of it was purified and some quickly scattered in all directions. Dabei entered the sea of suffering, and there she saw the scenes of the Illusory Demon Realm, the Illusory Buddha Realm, and the Illusory Realm of the Five Poisons blending together into one. She saw the Demon King using fire to burn the beings in another illusory realm; some people had their eyes gouged out, their hands cut off, and their tongues pulled out. In the Illusory Buddha Realm, the poison of arrogance flared up in people, letting the demonic poison invade through the opening; half of their bodies slipped into the Illusory Demon Realm. In the Illusory Realm of the Five Poisons, a person’s poison of hatred erupted, and she became a giant python, biting and tearing at her own mother’s head. A man’s poison of greed erupted; he had just turned into a little pig when his wife roasted and ate him. Many children, their addiction flaring up, took even more potent narcotics and ate them as food. Countless maggots grew on their bodies, devouring the children bit by bit. A man’s poison of delusion erupted, and he clasped a demon woman in his arms; the demonic poison turned into lustful water that turned the man’s bones black. His skin and flesh separated, and the demon woman turned into a red snake that tore through the man’s intestines and burst out of his belly. The several illusory realms were mixed together—different times, different places. The beings in the illusory realms suffered in different forms of life. Dabei was falling at tremendous speed; because the fall was so fast, Dabei could not feel herself falling. Instead, she felt as if she were rising. Watching the beings trapped by addiction in the illusory realms, grief welled up in Dabei’s heart. The sea of suffering was dark and without light, but wherever Dabei passed, the beings in the illusory realms there were startled awake by the intense, dazzling golden light radiating from her body. They momentarily forgot their addiction and stopped doing evil, instead turning to look at Dabei with devout, expectant eyes. Some of the rescue team members even reached out both hands toward Dabei, as if they needed her to pull them up. Tears burst from Dabei’s eyes and merged with the sea of suffering. Dabei cried out silently, “If I can get out of here, I will definitely come back to save you.” Dabei could not bear to look anymore, so she closed her eyes. After falling for who knows how much longer, she suddenly felt an incomparable coolness over her entire body. She felt she had entered a luminous body of water, and in this water her body gradually melted away and disappeared. Dabei thought she might be about to die, yet she felt not the slightest fear—only a complete joy filling her entirely. Suddenly a column of water rushed up from the bottom, and Dabei was carried by the water column into the void.
“Dabei!” She heard Duozhi calling her. Dabei did not answer. She thought she had died and entered a world of sound. She also heard the sound of the wind, the sound of thunder, the sound of ocean tides, and the vast empty echoes of the universe. She saw the scenes of all the planets in the entire galaxy vividly before her eyes. It seemed she had returned to the Cosmic Observation Chamber of her own planet, and she saw her father the King smiling at her with approval. She melted into the void and became one with the void. At the same time, to her astonishment, she felt that the entire void, the entire galaxy—everything, everything at all—was converging upon her, melting into her. She became a kind of power. She was everything, and she presided over all of it.
“The Divine Being with Ten Thousand Hands and Eyes.” Suddenly, countless voices were calling out—the Divine Being had appeared. Dabei abruptly opened her eyes and found herself standing on a cloud above Mountain of Self-Nature. Her body was enormous beyond measure, radiating golden light outward; layer upon layer, countless hands had grown all over her body, and in each hand there were countless eyes. She looked down and saw that nearly everyone in the illusory realms was gazing up at her; some were calling out to her that on the Self-Sacrifice Cliff, Duozhi was kneeling there, silently weeping. Slowly she extended a long golden arm from the cloud and touched Duozhi’s head, and Duozhi’s whole body trembled. Merit water gushed and spilled over from the merit vessel beside Duozhi. Dabei picked up the vessel and sprinkled the water over Duozhi’s head. Duozhi’s ego-clinging shattered in an instant; he transformed into a light body and soared into the air, and beside the Self-Sacrifice Cliff a giant lotus bloomed, quickly covering the entire island. Dabei then sprinkled the water over all the environs below Mountain of Self-Nature. As the merit water fell, deafening lion roars resounded through the skies one after another. Streams of golden light shone from Dabei’s hands, eyes, mouth, the point between her brows, and every other part of her body, illuminating the illusory realms on all sides. All who came into contact with the water and the light had their ego-clinging shattered and were transformed into light bodies. At the same time, countless figures of Dabei appeared in the illusory realms, each holding a merit vessel, and together with Dabei in the sky, they were swiftly helping those people who had not yet been freed from their addiction to the poison.
“Dabei, the time has come—please return at once.” The image of King Duobao Ruyi appeared in Dabei’s Heavenly Eye Mirror, and her father’s voice came from the sky. Dabei looked around; countless light bodies had already gathered around her, and all the rescue team members had arrived. But in the illusory realms there were still many people who were deeply poisoned and had not yet been freed from it.
Dabei’s heart could not bear it, and she said, “I want to bring everyone back to King Duobao Ruyi, but there are still many people who have not been freed from the poison. I hope some of you will make a vow to stay and help them.” The moment Dabei finished speaking, five hundred people immediately stepped out from the group, saying they were willing to remain on Mountain of Self-Nature and continue helping those who were still left in the illusory realms. Delighted, Dabei handed the merit vessel to them and said, “Your ego-clinging has been broken. Your bodies, like mine, are the light of universal love. May you always shine your light on all things on Planet A. This vessel is now entrusted to you; I hope you will keep the merit water always full.” With that, Dabei once again surveyed the planet, then said to the light bodies gathered around her, “Let us go.” In that instant, streaks of rainbow light swept across the sky from the void, lighting up the entire heavens of the planet.
